It’s looks pretty neat on arrival. Battery health says it’s at peak performance. Lightweight so very suitable for those constantly on the move. Comes with charger so might not need to purchase new one.
On the flip side, it’s gone off on its own at about 56% battery and when turning on diagnostics keep saying the power adapter is not supported. Aside this it works very smoothly and was very easy to setup.

So far using this laptop the results are about what I expected from reading other reviews beforehand and taking a chance. First off the dispatch was immediate and shipping was well packaged (mine was sold by Refurb IT MCR).
These are refurbished units obviously which will mean each one will have slight difference and probably imperfections. I took the gamble on this as I wanted a small laptop which I could use for travel and upgrade some parts in over time. A lot of these laptops were used in schools/workplaces of course so you should definitely expect some physical wear and tear.
Overall the quality of my unit is fine. The display rear casing is covered by a decal presumably as an easy way to hide scratches and marks on the body, and there’s one or two dead pixels which are only really seen on white background. The battery is at about 76% capacity which is not great, but it’s actually been performing remarkably well so far and I’ve been able to stretch it to around 6 hours if i’m just typing up or doing light web browsing. Video obviously tanks it pretty fast but I find this true of all Windows machines. Again if you’re buying a refurb, you shouldn’t expect great battery life. Mine was supplied with an official Dell charger which works totally fine and is compact enough to make it easy to travel with.
I’ve also opened up the unit to upgrade the RAM and found all the internals in good condition, no missing or threaded screws, no sign of tampering. These are the kind of things which for me are red flags with refurbs but this was thankfully not what I have found. All features (camera, keyboard backlight etc) are also fully working.
In summary I think the main issue with this process is that between you the buyer, the seller and Amazon as a marketplace, there is no way of finding out any of this information in advance. They do seem to offer a solid return policy but most refurbished stores will have a product report that allows you to know the exact condition of the unit you are buying. Without this I found myself instead reading the reviews of the individual sellers to see if they were responsive to issues and generally provided good quality units. I recommend taking a look at this before hitting the order button as some seem to be rated much better than others. Either way it is ultimately a bit of a gamble due to how Amazon has this setup. I decided with the return policy it was worth it, and so far so good.

Laptop was total junk, battery wouldn’t hold any charge, case was missing screws and falling apart. The ‘refurbishment’ seemed to consist of just putting a large black sticker over the keyboard to make it look new. Returned straight away.
