3.0 out of 5 stars Well built laptop with some inovative features let down by a very poor screen.
Pros:
– Light
– Well built
– Feels very responsive.
– Decent performance in games for a non dedicated gpu. Ran Elden Ring pretty well. Don’t expect miracles but pleasantly surprised the onboard graphics were decent.
-Ran photoshop well
– N trig pen is good. N trig has come a long way – still not on a par with wacom tech and you can’t configure the buttons. There are two buttons on the side of the pen.
– Dual screens are really useful.
– High quality extras like the carry folder.
Cons;
– the screens are very substandard. Colours and contrast were awful out of the box. I tried to manually calibrate and improved them slightly but I needed to use my colour calibrator to fix it properly which not everyone has access to. Once done, colours and contrast looked borderline acceptable. The real let down is the response time (notebook check says around 40-50ms which is more than double the average). 60hz feels so much lower with extreme ghosting. It actually looks awful and is why I ended up returning the machine. Why on earth asus went with such awful screens is beyond me but they probably want you to buy the more expensive model for more than double the price.
– Keyboard feels cramped as does the trackpad due to the dual screen setup. Easy to typo and get finger cramp.
– You can accidentally touch the smaller screen whilst typing and change the focus – probably something you could get used to.
– Carrying folder is high quality but it feels a bit too snug and you remove the laptop by dragging it past the pen – it feels like only a matter of time until you drag the laptop over the metal pen and scratch it.
– Aggressive fan curve. Fn + f can put it into whisper mode which makes it completely silent which is more palatable.
– Hard sharp edge on the bottom of the laptop which makes it very uncomfortable on your lap – best on a table or cushion.
– I don’t know how companies test battery life but I’d say it was probably around 3hrs with me hardly doing anything.
– Ntrig pens – I hate them.
It’s a shame. I really wanted to like this laptop but I don’t know who it’s for. It’s setup to be for multitasking and productivity for creatives (because of the pen) but the screens are garbage so it’s not suitable for any sort of colour work. Frustrating. Probably by design so you buy the more expensive model.
I don’t write reviews normally but I thought this would be useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too hot to handle
Bought in November 2023.
For most of my use, I had this laptop step up on a stand using an external keyboard and mouse. It served me fairly well for my work tasks. I code for a living with some photo and video editing thrown in. It handled most of what I threw at it and I enjoyed using it.
Due to changes in my work place, I was issued a company laptop and this ASUS one was relegated to personal use only… And I hate using it.
As a docked PC it worked perfectly fine and I guess that was because I was one step removed from the awful track pad, as well as the afterthought keyboard. Both are shockingly awful.
The second screen… is mostly superfluous. I used it a bit for watching YouTube videos PiP but it is there for catching dust. Everything is so small on it, I stopped using it entirely. You can actually turn it off by a function key, but when you do, Windows 11 seems to think you’re using a tablet and enlarges your taskbar and icons. Awful. The premise is better than the execution, the saying goes.
Since this laptop is powering two screens, an i9 processor and a 4060 graphics card, there is very little battery life to speak of. You’ll always need to be dashing distance of a plug socket.
The heat generated by this thing is intense, it always has the fans running.
I’ve since sold mine and moved on. In summary, not worth the price tag. Too many compromises for not much gain.

5.0 out of 5 stars No going back to single-screen laptops…
This is just an epiphany: I’d wanted one since the start of my course but held back until I felt I deserved a reward and am so glad I did. This is a HUGE spend for me (£750 from Amazon with no power cable) but it’s worth every single penny. Studying and working on assignments is so helped by having that second screen; I know Windows will let you split your screen but it’s not a patch on this. It’s quite heavy but it’s also quite brilliant. Honestly, buy it. It sounds like an expensive gimmick but it’s actually my pride and joy now, which for someone who lives to knit and drink tea and is allergic to technology is quite a big thing. No, you can’t have mine. Buy your own and thank me later 🤗

5.0 out of 5 stars Superbly built and highly functional – a real head turner
I have been looking to move away from the different cheapy laptops I have been using for a while, and I decided to get something a little bit different.
The 14″ ZenBook Duo is a little bit science fiction – you can’t believe it has so much technology in a 14″ chassis! The top half is a normal laptop, with a high resolution screen, thin bezels and a webcam (that supports Windows Hello). The bottom is the clever bit – the keyboard has been shrunk and compressed a bit, with a touchpad on the side, so that the top half of the deck can support a second fullwidth high resolution touchscreen, tilted towards you. Windows treats this like a second monitor, and Asus has also included some smart software that allows you to reorganise and swap windows, use it as a quick launcher for apps and commands, or use it as a big touchpad.
This makes it a multi-tasking powerhouse – as I type this review on the main screen, I have my email and messages on the second screen. I have also been using it for copy editing – with a main Word document on the big screen and a second reference document on the smaller one, copying and pasting between them.
Everything else is also bang on – loads of ports, strong battery life and a nice clicky action to the keyboard. It is powerful too – everything feels quite zippy with the quad-core 11th Gen i5 processor.
I am really pleased with it – and for only £900 I think it is tremendous value. Asus don’t skimp either – it comes with a leather carry case and a stylus pen for the screens, extras that other manufacturers make you pay more for.
Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A dual screen lappy that works…finally
Well done Asus. First to market with a dual screen laptop, perfectly integrated and that works as it should. Others have tried and not quite made it work but this is superb. I tend to use it in horizontal duo mode which is the primary purpose for me.
The integrated stand is solid and secure and the two OLED screens are bright and a good size. Moving between screens is seamless and intuitive. Battery life could always be better but I get a solid 7-8 hours when using both screens.
It’s a super fact machine with no lag whatsoever and the detachable keyboard is superb. Very thin, feels good to type on and instant connectivity using BT.
This is a gamechanger for the future of laptops.

1.0 out of 5 stars Expensive and just not that great unfortunately
edit: — DO NOT BUY — the reason for this is stated at the bottom of my review.
It’s alright, everything feels very OK. For me the touch screen was a little too sensitive and you can’t switch it off really, which means when angling the screen up and down I end up closing a tab or a window by accident.
For a while when writing or doing general tasks on the computer a black bar would randomly flicker into view, sometimes the entire screen would blink black.
I like the mousepad being on the right, it’s surprisingly intuitive, it might get on your nerves if you’re left handed though.
It comes with a pen, which is a heavy metal stylus, it doesn’t really do much for me personally. It would be cool if I could use it for drawing, but that’s not what the screen is designed for so no luck there.
The screen is a matt touchscreen, it’s very very good, it knows where you’re clicking and is rarely problematic, the only issue is not being able to turn it off in an accessible way like I mentioned. But yes, very satisfying to use it, much prefer it to shiny touchscreens which leave a finger trail behind no matter what and allow you to stare back at your reflection all day.
My main gripe with this computer is the screen is very fragile. Initially when I bought it, it arrived with this tiny chip off in the bottom right corner, which was vaguely annoying but didn’t seem to affect the computer and I had to leave for another country and work from my laptop so I couldn’t do anything about it.
I couldn’t even see it really because the second screen lifts over it. Then I saw a line around the chip, that worried me but I couldn’t do anything about it, then the plastic around it lifted up, then most recently a line appeared in the actual main screen and caused the touch screen to malfunction so that I had to disable it in order to be able to move my cursor.
The thing is Asus have a thing called Asus Premium Care, which covers accidental, which no matter what I say it would have to fall under, but in the UK they don’t cover accidental, so I’m going to have to pay for a new screen and I have no idea how expensive that will be given the odd type of thin matt touchscreen it is.
All in all I kind of like the laptop (we’ll see how much love is left after I get the bill for the screen replacement), the keyboard is nice, the mousepad on the right is nice, touchscreen feels really nice. Basically everything I like about it is a little bit superficial but if that’s what you’re looking for this is a good laptop.
—- Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star upon finding out that replacing the screen costs nearly £600 so I can’t afford that. Yes, this is a laptop for rich people, I still think that’s actually outrageous.
Break or chip your screen, it will get worse simply through normal usage on an office desk, and that’s £600 to fix.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool
I have to say this is a really nice laptop.
I don’t do much apart from office and PDF work so this is fast. Responsive. Decent battery (although I try not to max out brightness etc).
Some people complained about keys and keypad. I don’t mind them. I actually like the feeling of the keyboard. As touch screen I don’t use the touch pad but when I do not major issue. Overall good.
No complaints.
Too early to give proper review.
Edit – still great laptop and for the price i think a steal. I do not use often only when need to and the second screen is very helpful and i have it to look at emails and other bits. You can split it to run say outlook and calender on the small screen which is very handy.
Some people have complained that the battery is bad but you have to appreciate it has 2 screens and it will use more battery than a normal laptop. I not had an issue as i use for an hour two and then charge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop..
I wanted a laptop that is ultralight for when I travel but I need power for photo editing and this one hit the spot !
Pros: very good ips screen on par with oled, second screen is very useful, fast enaugh to run photoshop and lightroom classic well for my photography, battery does last a lot for youtube and movies.
Cons: be careful with the usb c charger (only use the one that it came with) as this laptop can have issues with aftermarket chargers (bricks the ports..known issue)
Would I buy it again ?? Yes !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb Laptop with great features and two displays.
I had been intrigued by the ZenBook Duo for a while, but looked at it as a bit of gimmick.
When a needed a new Laptop, principally to use in meetings, I realised that the dual screen was ideal as it allowed me to follow the agenda or presentation and make in-meeting notes all at the same time without having to decipher my hand made notes afterwards.
When I received the new Laptop, it more than lived-up to it’s expectations. Not only did I get a fast laptop with a bright, high resolution touch screen display – but I got a Laptop with two of them!
The ZenBook Duo is a dream to use, and although you get a very nice stylus as well, I find that the screens are so responsive, I hardly need to use it. I had worried that I might not be able to read the 14″ screen easily, let alone the second screen, but because of the combination of high resolution, high background illumination and good contrast there has never been a problem, even in brightly lit environments.
I have had this Laptop for about five weeks now, and it still blows my socks off! From its sleek lines, its tilted second screen and its gently illuminated keyboard – it just ticks all the boxes.
I would thoroughly recommend this Laptop. My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner!

5.0 out of 5 stars I am impressed!
My venerable Huawei laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 based) quietly handed its cap in after 6+ years of faithful service – and the cost of repair was unrealistic. So, I wanted a more powerful replacement device – but at a reasonable price.
This laptop appeared to fit the bill – especially at a discounted price of £699 (and the Amazon offer of 12 interest free monthly payments) – EXCELLENT!
Despite the reasonable price, with 16GB of memory, an Intel i7 processor and a 1TB SSD, this laptop is no slouch. OK, everything is not quite state of the Art. The processor is an 11th generation device (the latest ones from Intel are gen 13), the SSD is PCIe generation 3 rather than the newer gen 4 and, as per the listing, this model has Intel Iris Xe graphics rather than a dedicated GPU.
That said, the laptop doesn’t hang about. It converts video files about 10x quicker than my old PC. Also, with WiFi-6, file transfers to our NAS are much quicker too – I am happy with that!
The PC arrived well packaged complete with a leatherette sleeve and stylus. Build quality is excellent and there is thankfully little bloatware. I just had to remove the abominably expensive Office 365 (I prefer MS Office 2021 Professional) and the godawful MacAfee paraphernalia.
I reluctantly use Norton Security as it’s free with our BT Broadband and, if managed, isn’t too intrusive. I use Paragon Hard Drive Manager 17 Advanced – which is excellent for backups, creating recovery media and for disk cloning etc. I also use a few different media editors to manage the family Plex server I run on our TerraMaster NAS.
I didn’t buy the laptop for its second screen but I find it surprisingly useful for cross referencing purposes etc. It took me a while to get used to the keyboard (with no wrist support) but it works fine. The touch pad is squeezed in to the right of the keyboard which some may find a tad odd. It doesn’t bother me as I use a Bluetooth mouse and the touch screen. The stylus is easy to use and the AAAA batteries it requires are readily available on Amazon. The included foldable laptop stand works a treat and is unobtrusive when folded away.
The 1TB SSD is an SK Hynix device and I downloaded their SSD Manager App to keep an eye on things. It showed the SSD as being brand new with zero errors. CrystalBenchMark showed the device to perform as advertised – see attached screenshot (includes both displays). This is an SSD known to be frugal as regards its power requirements, give good performance for its price and, to run relatively cool. It can be upgraded by the user. There are a number of YouTube videos on the subject.
The 16GB of main memory should be more than adequate for most users. However, note that this RAM is soldered in – so cannot be user upgraded.
I ran NovaBench (see 2nd screenshot) and the results were good. As anticipated, with no GPU, the weaker aspect is the Intel Iris Xe graphics capability. However, as I am not an avid gamer, that is not an issue. Both displays are clear and precise, more than adequately meeting my requirements. I believe the BIOS settings can be used to allocate more of main memory to the display if required.
There are 2x Thunderbolt-4 and a USB-A 3.2 port so there’s plenty of connectivity. I already have a PD power pass-through docking station which gives all the other connections I need including an RJ45 LAN port.
My only minor gripe concerns the twin cooling fans being surprisingly noisy when they kick in. That said, I quickly got used to them and they normally drop out after a few seconds. There is an option in MyAsus to reduce fan noise by lowering their spin speed. Anyway, checking on the temperatures, neither the CPU nor the SSD get unreasonably hot.
I did see that the MyAsus App shows the laptop as having its 12 month warranty starting last May (I bought it in December) and ending in May 2024. However, I am not particularly concerned as, when I queried it, Amazon confirmed that the laptop is covered by their own 2 year warranty from date of purchase. So, I presume Amazon bought a ‘job lot’ of these laptops from ASUS earlier in the year at a bulk discount – and hence their reasonable price now.
In summary, I am rather chuffed with my purchase. It’s an excellent laptop that meets my needs at a very reasonable price. The more I use it, the more I appreciate it 😊 😃
