Thought they sent the wrong one as the obvious sign of key bashing wear made me think someone had been heavy gaming on it or writing a book or thesis on it and when it overheated and was returned for repair they refused it as unsuitable or similar. I did take some clue from the fact that when I asked, not the shop on Amazon UK, but Asus themselves, they said it had been registered 10 months before so that to me anyway is distinctly 2nd hand. As far as the machine is concerned I would say that it’s not a laptop in the true sense of the word but a table top machine or at the very least a hard surface machine cos if you’re into even more than a little light gaming or just taking advantage of the superb screen or just the power and graphics possible to get from this and such other powerful machines to consider the heat output of the best of everything powerful and at least your (possible) future family and get a good laptop stand as well. And if you can, also consider an extended warranty as an essential option. Otherwise, top of the class Asus and keep them coming!

There is an issue with windows which may or may not be fixed at some point in the future, which resets all windows hello data when you use the mux switch. You have to re-login using your windows account, which takes forever if you have two factor authentication enabled. ASUS support says they have submitted a windows bug report, but who knows if it will be fixed – there are reports of this bug going back to when it was first released.
I would return the laptop given how much it costs, but they have me in a chokehold because unfortunately there is nothing even comparable on the market. i.e., all other high powered laptops look like dog s***, and do not have oled touchscreens either.
If you don’t care about this then go ahead and buy, everything else is great, but if you want to get the best performance out of the device take this as a heads up that you will be inconvenienced each time.

This is a very good laptop. Excellent build quality, very fast, great cooling and loads of features. The wheel is a bit pointless really given I don’t use Adobe suite though. Display is colour accurate but could do with being a little bit brighter in a well lit environment but that’s really the only slight fault I could mention. Not too bothered about battery life as I won’t be using it out of the house. It’s pretty much perfect to be honest. Great price with the 38% discount.

The media could not be loaded. I don’t really know where to begin with the expensive disappointment..
First I received a box of disinfectant instead of the laptop, customer service was really unhelpful.
I ordered again even if I still need to get a refund for the wrong delivery and the PC that should have been a dream for 3D designers actulally revealed to be a real nightmare. Beginning with the pen and wheel features that are not working and every software encountering problems as the drivers are not readly installed, you need to waste a great amount of time to study it all, support is inexistent. The “dedicated” graphic card is defective, as you can see from the photos and videos I added, you will really struggle to get the PC to work or to even stay on without scary noise, let alone all the work lost due to it shutting down abruptly.
What a disappointment, I spent 2,433 + 2,799 for the two orders and the UPS pick up still does not show as received, God knows when (and if) I eill get a refund. DO NOT GET INTO TROUBLE, Avoid this purchase and please do not rely on positive reviews on this site, check anywhere else and you will find out the ugly truth.

An excellent laptop. Remarkably well built, very solid construction. The raised keyboard does not flex with normal use. The track pad is large, very smooth and built in numeric pad. The screen is beautiful too look at, vivid and extremely responsive. The i9 and 4080 handle everything you can throw at it. If you prefer gaming compatibility install the Nvidia standard driver as it installs the Studio version by default. It could do with more SSD capacity as standard. 1TB is below par in today’s world, especially considering what this laptop is likely to be used for, and the missing option to upgrade the 32GB is a shame. However, squeezing this much power in to a small frame is tough and 32GB is enough for now. Besides, the trade off response time for hardwired RAM is excellent at over 7000mhz. Camera quality is good, and it has a built in infra red and fingerprint scanner. Plenty of connectivity ports, and the included touch pen works well. The only thing I would advise is consider a laptop cooler tray and ensure good ventilation from below. When this device is pushed to is limits it gets very hot and can be uncomfortable on your lap. Minor issues frankly considering what you’re getting in a well presented package. For an extra £100 from Asus you can protect it from any faults, including battery and accidental damage for 3 years. Overall an excellent modern, high performance laptop that will easily last for several years. I’m glad I bought it.
