5.0 out of 5 stars A 2 in 1 laptop from HP which offers nice specs for basic use …. and a bit above basic too.
This is, as it’s known in the trade, a 2 in 1 laptop which basically means it can be used as a standard laptop or, flips over to become a tablet. And it does a pretty good job in doing so.
It comes with a 512GB SSD (Solid State Drive) which can be upgraded, and has 8GB of RAM, (2 x 4GB modules in 2 ports) Can be upgraded.
It has an 11th Gen inteol® Core ™ i5-1135G7@2.40GHz CPU and came with Windows 10 – Upgraded to windows 11 for free.
It has an intel® iris® Xe graphics card, a 1920 x 1080 resolution (Changeable) and a refresh rate of 60Hz (Changeable)
It has an intel® smart sound technology for USB audio/digital microphone with Realtek high definition audio.
With many apps preinstalled and plenty of room to install more, (Some apps are worth uninstalling if you don’t need them, I’ve gotten rid of a few which are no good for me, clearing up a little more space on the SSD.
The specs of this one may differ from other devices but the basic controls are the same, or close to it.
The keyboard doesn’t have a separate number pad, which I prefer as I find it easier to touch type when there’s just a keyboard. But if you like a separate number pad then you’ll be disappointed with this one.
The keyboard itself has back lighting, just press the F4 button and you get two options of brightness and then there’s the off option too.
Either side of the keyboard are the speakers which are remarkably good considering they’re strapped to a laptop. Listening to music is pretty enjoyable through the speakers and doesn’t disappoint.
The fingerprint protection works brilliantly, instantly working, once you’ll put in your fingerprint that it. With the fingerprint logo on the key between the cursors and the ‘alt gr’ showing you where to put your finger.
It has a couple of USB ports, a HDMI port, a USB-C port, an SD card slot and a 3.5mm earphone jack.
The battery takes no more than an hour to charge and last for at least six times that, depending on usage. But it does last a while when simply browsing and writing.
I won’t go into the apps as this is a personal choice of what ever apps you want to run.
The touchscreen is instantly responsive and works a treat, working with the stylus/pen which came in the box (yes, a stylus/pen does come with this one, well, it came with the one I had delivered anyway)
This is a nice little laptop with good enough specs for your average working day, unless your work involves heavy gaming or other heavy PC usage as this may well struggle with heavier use.
But for me, using this just for simple tasks, browsing, writing, reading, watching stuff and other things, this does exactly what I need it to do.
So what about the price? Well, I paid nearly £800 for this and I have to say that, for me, it’s money well spent. Especially as I know I can add a larger SSD and more RAM if needed. Some laptops have soldered parts which means you’re stuck with what you get, but with this, there’s room for expansion. Which is nice to know.

Functionality was ok but hugely disappointed that within 6 months of purchase the left hinge between screen and keyboard failed, resulting in laptop not closing properly and screen cracking at bottom left corner. I would have expected that this issue would have been covered by warranty but HP declined claim as it was not listed on their “known issues” for this product (I wonder how many other issues they are aware of?). Very disappointed as I would expect being able to close/open a laptop to be a basic functional requirement of any laptop and poor customer service from HP.

Nice machine – all aluminium – nice keyboard, nice features eg backlit keyboard, soft ‘on’ lights etc. But I found it unacceptably noisy even when I put it on quiet mode and I was just lightly surfing the Web. My 360 screen lid was very loose and moved whenever the laptop was picked up or put down which meant that it required regular adjustments. Disappointed.

I purchased this laptop so I could have a separate non work laptop for browsing, videos and a bit of gaming The graphics are good. The windows store was a bit buggy but I managed to get apps like a Netflix, Spotify and Disney installed quite easily. No joy for Facebook but Twitter works fine.
Severely disappointed that 7 months in the hinge came out from the laptop as in the photos. This laptop has only left the house once so it’s not likely to have been damaged from being carried all over the place.
Amazon support said speak to HP and 1 hour 30 minutes of 2 calls after seeking out the hidden customer support phone number I am still waiting for it to be collected by DPD and taken for repair.
The reason DPD did not collect after waiting in all day last week was due to heavy rain in the UK! I mean it’s the UK!
All in all very disappointing to have such a major fail so early on with a fundamental part of the laptop. It’s supposed to be a 2 in one so you can fold it back fully and use as a tablet touch screen but this makes me really weary of doing this again when I get it back especially as the keyboard then rests awkwardly on your lap.

I find that it can freeze a little when running a fair ammount of tabs when studying. The laptop is kept in a sheath and looked after at all times and still has wear and tear at the joins between monitor and screen after only 3 months. Touch screen is useful and its lightweight and easy to carry.
