I wasn’t expecting miracles at the price point, and on that front, HP didn’t fail! However, it really was painfully slow for even the most basic of tasks and the screen quality was very poor. I had little option but to return it.

If there was a zero star I would have clicked that one. I just wanted a computer to use with a printer occasionally. However, this is so, so slow, as other reviewers have stated. Takes so long just to get it turned on and started. What is wrong with this computer as so many people have said it is too slow and not fit for purpose. It is not used very much and the Internet works great with other electronic gadgets I have, it is just this one. Really tests my patience!

This has all the connectivity you need: usbB, usbC and hdmi. I’m only using it for MS Office and Gmail so not making great demands on processing power and it’s absolutely fine. People have commented that it’s slow – it took 96 seconds from pressing the power button to get to writing an email. Seems perfectly acceptable to me!

I got this as a replacement for my hp notebook that was on its last legs. I love this. Compact, streamline, looks beautifully modern and runs nice and smoothly. First thing I did was remove some of the bloat-ware off the system including the xbox app and Microsoft teams as I would never use these. Also reset what programs would be run at start up and I found this made it much speedier overall. I use this solely for my writing work, so I only really use word and libreoffice which run on this no issue what so ever.
I also can confirm the browser is nice and speedy when it comes to the internet. This is me using edge without any additional plugins and so far not had an issue getting into my emails or logging into social media. Battery life is excellent, runs 10 h easy on one charge. Sound quality is okay. Works fine for watching videos. Good keyboard with clicky buttons and nice to type on.
Couple of pointers worth mentioning.
It came in ‘S mode’ which was not mentioned on the product page. This means you will not be able to install programs that are not available on the Microsoft store. This can be altered, you just need to go to the microsoft store and download the app to fix this. Be warned you cannot go back to s mode if you do, but I imagine the majority of users won’t be bothered by that.
Second, you do have to have a microsoft account to use this device. This isn’t the device’s fault, this is a win 11’s thing. Worth mentioning anyway.
Ram memory is not big. Also a very small hdd capacity. I haven’t tried any video games (the hdd is 64gb and about half of that is just the os), but I very much doubt this would run most games very well. Maybe small capacity stuff, 2d games perhaps, but not something with heavy graphics.
All in all, you get what you pay for and for the cost it is a lovely thing. If you want something chunky with a big harddrive and big ram, this is not it. As a lightweight, easy to use, portable device, it’s perfect. Very happy with this product overall.
