This is in warranty of < 1 year but HP refuse to take responsibility for the screen debonding. I think the main hinge between the keyboard and the screen has bent enough that the screen catches on the keyboard when opening.
I’ve not used it as a frisbee! HP made $607m profit on $12bn revenue. The product should be robust enough to withstand going into a rucksack to work and back. I’ve escalated to HP senior mgt to say they should replace it, IMHO. I’m not a difficult person or customer, but this is part of “the system” as they put it.
Not the fault of the operators, but the chat broke 7 times and it took me 6 hours to get to talk to somebody. That’s mgt responsibility not the people who talk to customers. Cheap systems that break in customer support, cheap hinges that bend (I think). I work in product development and I know all the different departments and how they treat customers and channel them down comms routes, which is where I’ve been pushed.
It broke when it shouldn’t have, which I didn’t pay for 11 months ago, that wasn’t in the product description. I told them that I’d write a review that’ll possibly cost them more than a replacement laptop. If you’re reading this, you choose who you want to buy a laptop off. HP won’t be top of my list next time.

I bought this for mother’s day to replace her old hp laptop. It looked exactly the same, different colour. Unfortunately, the performance is not the same. It is very slow and it hangs all the time.

I bought this a year ago and have only used it twice because it keeps crashing with a “not responding” message. I’ve been busy and so never got round to returning it. I only wanted it for travel but it’s useless and have now bought a tablet instead.

As a result of its modest specification, this laptop ticks the boxes for portability and battery life. Although it seems very unlikely that the suggested 14 hour battery charge duration will ever actually be available – if it lasts hours, then it would be good for in-journey use. The screen type appears to have quite a marked optimum viewing angle. The installed MS Windows-11 came with S-mode switched on, now switched off to allow me to install some favourite apps. The slow processor, small CPU & bulk memory spaces have not come across as significant restrictions yet. The laptop is good for browsing, shopping and holiday use, e.g. watching Netflix and viewing Google Earth in a hotel room. It does not have a touch screen. A good buy at the price.
