Modern 15 Ryzen7 b7m 086-UK.
Managed to pickup from Amazon warehouse for £347 and glad I never paid full price,
Very deceptive with vram specs as only 512 mn dedicated for igpu, Also it is not possible to upgrade the ram as it is soldered to the main board with no available slots, It is however possible to upgrade the SSD to a higher capacity one.
After starting it up I was faced with a botched Win 11 install giving errors etc so had to use an old usb stick to install win 10, After using a WiFi dongle to get all the drivers it runs fantastic and am happy with the general performance, Battery life could be better and screen colours more vibrant but for what I paid I grabbed a botched bargain 👍 Don’t expect too much and you should enjoy using it.

This is a nice laptop if you’re ok to live with a permanently limited amount of RAM. 8GB is good for windows 11 but just about and it’s definitely not future proof. The part that doesn’t make too much sense is to pair 8GB ram with a Ryzen 7 7730U – this is a lot of processing power especially in the multicore side of things, but the use-cases where this matters with very limited RAM are very few. There *is* one big advantage to having a powerful processor here and it is that with so little RAM headroom, things need to be refetched from cache very frequently and a stronger processor helps to “compensate” here.
The other big issue with this machine is the 39Wh battery but also the power inefficient components. I profiled the battery usage extensively and you get 6-6.5hs streaming a video non stop until fully drained, which is about the same you can get at best with light use (say browsing the web). This is about 1.5hs better than the Asus Vivobook 15.6″ I tried with i5 12th gen and 16GB RAM – the total power drain by the Ryzen is 1-1.5W lower than the intel. But then again I think the issue here is a very cheap screen and other components that are just power inefficient draining a lot more than other laptops – if you want battery life, sacrifice the processor and go with a Acer Aspire 3 with 7320U and 8GB (or 16GB) for an even lower price, you get 12h+ here.
Otherwise the screen is just OK, very cheap, colours and viewing angles are just usable. Keyboard is great for my taste and it is backlit (although watch the battery). You can charge via USB-C which is great given the limited battery life but no video out. The build quality is very nice for a budget laptop.
Ultimately it’s important to remember this is a budget laptop. These are better for limited use as laptop and maybe more geared to use on a desk with the power brick and with an external monitor.
