Ok so here is what I hope is a balanced review.
To be clear I bought two of these and one works fine so far. The machines are solid, appear reasonably quick and were very easy to set up.
However, within 24 hours of purchase, Microsoft office would not load on one of them and in trying to repair it (I took it to a specialist) the version of Office loaded was wiped (critically you don’t appear to get a Microsoft product code) and I had to buy a new version – really annoying.
In addition, you can only get hold of the sellers by WhatsApp and it took them 90 minutes even to respond with “can you send me a video of what it is doing” – hardly helpful. I then asked for the product code – radio silence since.
So judge for yourself – great if it works but don’t expect much customer service.

The battery life very short and the laptop often shows a blue screen with error message which is annoying, have to then fix it everytime.

The computer did not work properly. There was no sound (no audible output). There was no brightness control. That didnt work. I had to take computer to a proper techician to rectify the problems which cost me 135 pounds .
Whoever installed the Windows 11 (as stated, )did not do it properly and this messed up a few of the drivers. All of which had to be reinstalled. The Company who sold this product have had loads of bad reviews from previous sales of their computers. This is another. I would strongly advise anyone interested in buying computers from them to look elsewhere. Also Amazon should check them out, they have seen the reviews for a couple years now but still advertise their product offers. So be very careful with your ordering. The Dell computer is actually very good product.

Using this laptop for working from home, so having m/s office preinstalled is a bonus. Also use it for zoom meetings etc, so much better than a mobile! This model also has Windows 11 preinstalled, which takes a bit of getting used to, but I soon got the hang of it,
The laptop arrived on the day specified and was packaged well, with no damage incurred on route.
I have whatsapped the supplier with a minor problem at the start, and their response was brilliant and the answer put me back on the right track straight away. Cant praise them enough.

Ok, I’m not one to do reviews, but I think my case deserves one. I purchased this computer in October 22, happy with the price and performance, but….it died on me last week(hard drive not being detected in BIOS), always a worry, but the seller arranged delivery, replaced the hard drive, and I’m waiting for the return. So, although it is annoying to have a failure, I guess these things happen, the important thing is getting it repaired free of charge. So given 4 star overal, but will update when laptop returned, may add a star.

Very easy purchase, excellent communication and fast delivery. The laptop is lightweight but feels good quality. Operating systems are set up and it’s very fast from pushing the start button to getting up and going. I bought this as I’ve just started my own business and needed a reliable laptop that was fast. I haven’t had a chance to use it that much yet but as it comes with a guarantee and a point of contact for any problems (nice touch) I don’t foresee any issues.

The software works OK, but I had to send the first one back because the bottom edge around the screen came apart within a few weeks of use. Unfortunately, the same thing has happened with the replacement. I’ve had to put a strap around the bottom of the screen to stop it falling apart. I bought this for my daughter and she’s reluctant for me to send it back because she’s spent a lot of time customisaing it to her preferences, but I may have to do so because she cannot close the lid properly now and she may need it for university. Very disappointed with this product and I would definitely not buy another Dell laptop, that’s for sure.
