5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best.
Build quality and user experience is unrivalled in my opinion. Got mine on sale and couldn’t be more pleased. If you want a gaming laptop and can stretch to afford a Razer you will not be disappointed…

2.0 out of 5 stars Razer laptops are stunning but…(2 stars for Razer and 0 STARS for AMAZON!!)
A month ago I bought a Razer 15 Advanced 4K OLED and returned it since the power adaptor was not working and the OLED panel had a dashed horizontal line of defective pixels.

I decided to buy the Blade pro 17 4K, which I received today. At the first launch…a stuck red pixel stands out on the black background, just on the left of the razer logo. I then found (at least) another dead pixel. Maybe a couple of defective pixels are fine in a budget laptop, but not on a 4300 Euros laptop.

It is a pity, since the Blade pro 17 is really amazing (which explains the 2 stars).

In addition, Amazon is not able to send me a replacement, which means I will probably have to wait another 3 weeks before getting a refund and having my chance to order a new unit. Annoying.

Update: if you are willing to return a (defective) item to Amazon, keep in mind this may be a terrible experience. I returned the Blade Pro 17 on July the 3rd. My return was delivered to the Amazon Return Center on July the 6th. At the moment of writing, on August the 4th, I still have not received an acknowledge of receipt from Amazon, not to speak of a refund. I contacted many times the customer service. Due to the high value of the item (over 3000 pounds), the customer service is not authorised to approve the refund, hence they have to escalate your case to some return team. During the last 15 days, they promised me at least 3 times that I would have been recontacted by this team, but I received no feedback from them.

I understand that in this critical period there may be some delays. What I do not understand is why Amazon is refusing to explain to you if there is a problem, and in case which is the problem. Just take my experience in serious consideration if you are willing to return a product. Now I am convinced that a couple of defective pixels on a screen are way more acceptable that this huge waste of time!

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful laptop that gets everything done
Great Battery Life, Sleek design which makes it the mot portable 17inch laptop I have ever seen and it can run anything I throw at it with near max settings. This was the 3060 so I can’t imagine how powerful the 3080 is. Overall I would highly recommend this laptop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal , Great laptop
Overall very happy with my razer 17 pro . Really beautiful display , has played every AAA game I’ve thrown at it with ease . Doesn’t get too hot or loud like some other gaming laptops I’ve used in the past . Only thing I can say is the the secondary function symbols don’t light up . However after looking into tho razer said this is as intended for the English version keyboards . Can be a bit annoying if you want to send an email on the dark . Doesn’t really affect me too much tbh .

4.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop although some reservations.
All in all the laptop is great. Its powerful and can handle 4k video editing and gaming AAA games on max settings and QHD… some at 4k but not all. Can very very comfortably smash 1080p gaming and high FPS.

there are some strange quirks with the laptop which after some research seem to be common among all and not just unique to my unit.

When not on mains power the speakers emit a crackling sound and sound distorted. As soon as it is plugged in this goes away.

The charger often cuts out which is a big no no while gaming as it forces the frame rate to plummet instantly. Until you disconnect and plug back in.

Battery is very poor although in fairness this is to be somewhat expected on a machine like this as they perform best when plugged in anyway.

Despite this the laptop is a beast. Alot of upgradabilty in terms or ram/storage/wifi card. The touh screen is precise and responsive and the screen quality is impressive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good gaming performance, but noisy fans, and has a lacklustre display.
I purchased this laptop solely as an easily transportable/moveable gaming machine. I am a long-term Mac user for everything else, but nothing beats PCs for gaming, and that is primarily the use that my review will focus on.

This is a very big and heavy laptop, and not something I’d want to be lugging around as a daily driver. This isn’t an issue in my use-case though, and doesn’t affect my rating, as it is what I expected it to be. I wanted a 17.3″ display, both for the extra immersion with a larger display, and the improved cooling afforded by a larger chassis.

Unfortunately, the display is rather lacklustre, with poor black levels, washed-out colours, and substantial backlight bleed. It feels like there is a constant ‘haze’ when gaming, and the graphics just don’t ‘pop’.

The speakers are very poor and ‘tinny’ sounding with no body or resolution.

The keyboard is probably one of the worst I have ever typed on. I really wouldn’t want to use it for any productivity tasks, or even gaming actually. The product photographs are misrepresentative regarding the keyboard lighting – as another reviewer has pointed out, none of the symbols on the keys are illuminated on the delivered UK model.

I have been very pleased with the gaming performance, and am able to run all modern AAA titles I’ve tried, at 1440p with high (i.e. very high to ultra where it matters to me) graphics settings and very smooth frame-rates. I don’t obsess about numbers with this – if it feels good, it is good – and it does feel good.

The fans are very loud, but do effectively keep things cool. I always wear headphones when gaming, which somewhat mitigates this, but the fans can still be heard during quieter moments in-game.

The aluminium construction is very good, and everything appears well put together. Very solid feeling. The black coating is an horrendous fingerprint magnet though.

Razer haven’t encumbered the machine with too much bloatware, but what is included is very annoying with its constant adverts.

I always use this laptop plugged-in, so I can’t comment on battery life – it isn’t an issue with my use-case, and the battery to me just serves as an UPS.

In conclusion, good gaming performance and experience when connected to an external display and keyboard, but I expected better overall for a product marketed as premium.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase
Absolute beast of a laptop for my gamer son. Hours and hours of gaming with no complaints at all. Little noisy but to be expected of a powerful laptop. I’d suggest this as a good purchase instead of a gaming PC as its all in one and has all the spec you need. Love it

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy one, looks good and that’s about it.
Tech support is beyond a joke. They offer no drivers on their website and contacting them is worse than having your teeth pulled.
The camera quality on my laptop is terrible. It can’t recognise me for Windows Hello and the image is horrible.
Talking to tech support it’s taken them 5 days to advise me to uninstall any windows updates, use the built in camera app to take pictures (which is what I’d used to provide the picture I sent them), to install any windows updates and to factory reset the device. I’m waiting for them to suggest I attach a seperate webcam and use that.

Onto the device itself, when you’re doing anything processor intensive it sounds like an aircraft taking off, even if you dial down the fan speed, at which point you get severely impacted performance.

Battery life, as long as you’re not doing anything at all which could possibly require any processing, it’ll last an hour or so. Do anything that uses the CPU (lets ignore the GPU) and it shoots down.
I will NEVER buy another thing from Razer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop for the money
To clarify.I paid £1680 for this.I would not have paid full price when launched. Far to much money for a laptop, but at the discount price on run out compared to new machines now availiable….no contest !

There is one small issue anyone that is buying this machine needs to be aware of. I have the one with the UK keyboard. Unlike a lot of you tube video reviews of this machine back when it launched which have ANSI keyboards , mine is a UK ISO keyboard layout. The ISO keyboards secondary function lights do not light up , where as the rest of the worlds ANSI layout keyboards do.

Other than that, the build , screen and performance are spectacular. Just don’t expect to get 4K 120hz out of games on that screen, Even a RTX 2080 super max Q that turbo’s to 100 watts will not do that.

You’ll have to run at 4K getting as close to 60fps whilst tweaking in game settings, or go down to 1080p and adjust in game settings to get 120 fps.

The Screen is calibrated out of the box and 4K on You tube or Netflix with the atmos enabled on the in built up firing speakers is very good, providing a good approximation of enveloping you in Dolby Atmos sound , but with the caveat of not really any base to speak off. Doing this , whilst having the machine on my lap is roughly equivalent to watching a 70″ 4k TV across the room in my living room (around 10ft away).

Portability. A bit heavy but very thin and a strong build. A bit like carrying around a thin slab of aluminium, but probably a bit heavier. The power brick is quite small for a 230watt brick.

Power consumption on battery , around just over 1 hr in gaming , and up to around 6 hrs on light use if you tweak some settings in windows. I would suggest plugging the machine in for gaming , and use it on battery if your surfing the net or watching netflix or light office duty work away from a plug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic all round Laptop.
This Laptop is an absolute beast!! I picked it up in the sale for £1,590, which is steal for something of such high build quality and performance.

The 4K touch screen is very responsive and truly stunning to watch. Gaming is breeze and I can comfortably play any title so far on max settings in 1440p resolution. Far Cry 5 being the most played so far and averages around 95fps on 1440p Ultra, with 1.0 Resolution. TimeSpy score come in at a very respectable 9399 too, which out perfoms many 3070 laptops and even some low power 3080 ones too.

Couple of little annoying things worth noting. As mentioned in other reviews, there seems to be a software issue where the speakers crackle slightly when using battery power. This only happens when in dedicated GPU mode and goes away when either plugged in or using optimus mode on battery. Another little niggle is that the secondary function keys do not light up on the UK keyboard. But none of these take away from what an amazing machine it is.

I would highly recommend this Laptop, if you can pick it up for around the £1,600 price point.
