So far it seems an OK machine – nothing special.
The condition was very good – all keycaps visible, surfaces very clean, etc.
My only qualm so far though is that it has a US keyboard, which is fine if you look at the keyboard keys as you type, but can get you into trouble if you are used to a UK keyboard.
It loses a star for this!
I can’t comment yet on the battery condition – that will come with use and time.

Oh yes, and it has a backlit keyboard. I say “oh yes” because I’ve only just noticed it. The keys are opaque and so they aren’t illuminated by this really handy feature. A bit of a waste really!
It does have a fingerprint sensor … which doesn’t seem to work at all.

I bought a refurbished laptop, and it arrived safely and appeared to be in good condition initially. However, I soon noticed that the battery was draining very quickly, and eventually, the laptop wouldn’t turn on even when plugged into the mains. I returned it at my own expense, but they couldn’t repair it and instead provided a completely different model without informing me. They also refused to refund any portion of the cost. While the new laptop is okay and functions well, I would advise caution when purchasing refurbished items from supplier.

I’ve been using different series of Dell laptops for quite a while. They’e properly built, perform well and look great in my eyes.
Dell E7470 is small enough to carry around and big enough to have a decent screen size. Battery life is around 4 hours considering it has been used for a few years.
The only thing worth noting is that this particular laptop lacks USB Type-C which is not a problem for me at all.

This laptop came with 16GB of installed RAM. Together with the i-76600U processor this made for a very fast 62-bit system operating Windows 10. Screen size was fractionally smaller (14 inch) than my previous laptop but the fine resolution was excellent (1920 x 1080) and was less tiring on the eye. The keyboard is backlit, as are all the keys, so it is perfect for use in low light. All in all it has been a rewarding purchase representing great quality for a low price. This is the reason I now buy quality used computers. Service and delivery by Amazon was up to the usual very high standard.

I was a little wary buying a used and restored laptop, but so far so good. I am writing this review using it right now. The only evidence thus far that the laptop is old is the aged condition of the stickers on the back. The product has no scratches and it arrived in excellent condition and was securely packaged.
Any issues I have is with Dell itself, a new feature I’ve discovered – Dell Audio – MaxxAudio Pro. Turned on, it does a great job of upping the volume when using the laptop speakers but it does creating a booming affect with headphones, but turn it off and no problem. You just need to remember to switch it back on when you un jack the headphones, as without it, even at 100 volume the sound is a quiet.
